Through service projects, scholarships, fundraisers, and our charitable arm — Iota Youth Adult Advocacy Program, Inc. — Zeta Omega works every day to invest in our tomorrow’s achievers. Zeta Omega was chartered to bring Iota Phi Theta’s mission to the Atlantic City area.
We call this city home and proudly serve it, along with South Jersey’s surrounding communities.

Zeta Omega’s charitable arm supports scholarships, mentorship, and community programs across Atlantic City and South Jersey. (Now being established as a 501(c)(3); gifts will be tax-deductible once IRS approval is granted.)
Our History
The story of Iota Phi Theta and the Zeta Omega Chapter.
Founded on responsibility.
Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Incorporated was founded on September 19, 1963, at Morgan State College in Baltimore, Maryland, by twelve visionary men — older, non-traditional students who built a fraternity around real-world responsibility rather than imitation of what came before. Today, Iota Phi Theta is a proud member organization of the National Pan-Hellenic Council, the “Divine Nine.”
The Zeta Omega Chapter was chartered in [YEAR] to carry that legacy to Atlantic City and the surrounding South Jersey communities. Our brothers are educators, entrepreneurs, public servants, and professionals united by the fraternity’s purpose: the development and perpetuation of Scholarship, Leadership, Citizenship, Fidelity, and Brotherhood among Men.

Scholarship Application

Apply for the Zeta Omega Alumni Book Scholarship.
Each year, the brothers of Zeta Omega award the Alumni Book Scholarship to graduating high-school seniors from the Atlantic City / South Jersey region who are headed to college. Awards recognize academic achievement, leadership, community service, and perseverance.
Review the requirements
A notarized copy of your official school transcript, two letters of recommendation from non-relatives (one from a principal, counselor, or community leader), and a 500-word essay — the essay topic is on the application.
Complete & mail
Download the application below, fill it out completely, and mail it with all documents to the Scholarship Committee — postmarked no later than May 15, 2027. The mailing address is on the application.
Selection & awards
The Scholarship Committee reviews every complete application; recipients are honored at our annual Scholarship Crab Feast.
Deadline: applications must be postmarked no later than May 15, 2027.
2026 Scholarship Recipients

Hassan Terry
A graduate of Atlantic County Institute of Technology’s Dental Assisting Academy and an incoming nursing student at Seton Hall University. A first-generation college student, Hassan served as class president, took part in Student Council and HOSA, earned multiple merit roll honors, and competed in varsity track and field — all while balancing leadership roles in retail and community service.
Bryce Lake
Named the Cape Atlantic League 2026 Top Spring Athlete. On the boys’ volleyball team he earned first-team All-Cape Atlantic League honors twice and became the all-time leader in kills in Egg Harbor Township High School history, finishing his career ranked third and fifth for most blocks and aces and 22nd in New Jersey for the class of 2026. Beyond athletics, Bryce was recognized as Member of the Year in the school choir, received the Most Creative Engineer award through Villanova University’s NOVA Edge program, and earned community service awards from Jack & Jill of America, Inc. and the Atlantic City NAACP Youth Council.
Kyree Barksdale
A distinguished graduate of Atlantic City High School and a dedicated multi-sport athlete, competing at the varsity level in both football and track and field. His commitment, discipline, and leadership on and off the field have prepared him for the next chapter of his academic journey. Kyree will continue his education at West Chester University in the fall.

Investing in Our Tomorrow’s Achievers — a 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving Atlantic City & South Jersey.
Why a foundation?
Iota Youth Adult Advocacy Program, Inc. is the independent charitable arm founded by brothers of the Zeta Omega Chapter. It was incorporated as a New Jersey nonprofit corporation in July 2026, and its application for 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status is pending; once the IRS grants that status, gifts will be tax-deductible. The Program is governed by an independent board of trustees, transparent books, and a public mission.
One hundred percent of Program activities serve the community: scholarships for local students, youth mentorship, and community service initiatives.
Student Awards
Annual scholarships for students from the Atlantic City / South Jersey region.
Donate
Give securely online through Zeffy. Donations are currently processed through the Zeta Omega Chapter while the Program completes its 501(c)(3) registration; once approved, gifts will be tax-deductible and receipted accordingly.

Until exempt status is granted, contributions are received through the Zeta Omega Chapter and are not yet tax-deductible. The Program is legally independent of Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc.
